JR RMDFF Event: Thursday, Nov 3rd, 2022
Junior Rocky Mountain Deaf Film Festival proudly hosts the first biennial event as it will be held at Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind, and virtually online on November 3, 2022 from 10:30 to 12:30 MST.
Sit back and enjoy the keynote speaker, Savannah Dahan known as Savvy, and some of the films that include Deaf student actors and/or made by Deaf Youth filmmakers.
We will view three categories: ASL Literature, Short Feature Films, and Experimental Films and winners will be announced.

Deaf Pink Gorilla (4 min)
This story, Deaf Pink Gorilla, is about a person who was driving on the highway. He realized that the gas was out, so he searched for a nearby gas station. But there is no gas nearby.. Then he spotted a huge house. He hurriedly went to that house, turned off his car, and knocked on the door. An old woman opened the door. He asked for room to sleep one night. The woman showed him the room and told him that he cannot enter that door at the end of the hallway. He was quite curious.. He waited til dark, Then he slowly crept out the door, then walked to that door.. What will happen when he enters it?

Birds jumping on the phone line (2 min)
This is about a boy who moved to a different house with his family. His family told him to go on and play in the sand. He happily went to the sand box, he played with sand for a while. He looked up and saw several birds. He observed them and spotted several different birds. He ran to get his dad, dad explained what kinds of those birds are. Then later, the boy went back, and spotted the birds hopping on the phone line. He went to get dad again, and asked, Dad looked down and explained that other deaf families were typing TTY to other deaf people. The boy nodded and looked up.

The Fox Without A Tail (3 min)
A Fox that had been caught in a trap and had to leave her beautiful bushy tail behind her. She didn’t want to tell her friends what happened since she was afraid they would make fun of her and laugh behind her back. Instead, she tried to convince her friend to cut off his tail to be like her if he valued life and safety but little did she know that she was being watched and the truth came out. The Friends and the Wallet (5 min)
Two hungry cats were walking in the wood and they talked about how they wished to have some money to buy a big fish. They promised to each other that they would share if one of them found the money. Good enough, one of them did but he decided to keep it for himself and betrayed his cat friend. When getting caught in action, the consequences of betrayal got back to the greedy cat. The Mice and the Weasels (5 min)
A true leader is an example for their acts, and not just words.The mice have been losing Capture the Flag game with the weasels for a while, so they decide to appoint a leader to prepare them for the next game. But the new leader feel overly superior, so they quickly separate from the team. The Lion and the Mouse (4 min)
The lion is asleep in the middle of the jungle and a mouse runs over his paw by accident. The lion wakes up when he feels the mouse on his paw and threatens to eat the mouse. The mouse begs for her life, saying that if the lion will free her the mouse will return the favor one day. The lion laughs at the idea that the mouse will be able to do something for him but decides to let her go. Some time passes, and the mouse saw the birds flying wildly since there was a vibrating noise in the jungle. The mouse goes to see what has happened and finds the lion trapped in a net. The Bat, The Bird and the Bear (3 min)
The Bird and the Bear are rivals of the video games. The bat who is supposed to be the bird’s friend gave his support and encouraged her to play the game again with the Bear. Reluctantly, the bird went ahead to play against him but her so called friend took sides every time one of them is winning. The Bird and the Bear noticed it and decided to take action. The Bear and the Bees (4 min)
A Bear roaming the woods in search of berries happened on a fallen tree in which Bees had stored their honey. The Bear smelled honey and followed the aroma to discover a bee hive. Just then the bees came home from the field of flowers. The Bear didn’t care about being busted since he thought they were too small and not a threat. The Queen Bee brought out the whole swarm. The Bear had to run to avoid getting stung, and he was able to save himself only by diving into a pool of water. The Girl Who Cried Wolf (6 min)
The story concerns a shepherd girl who repeatedly fools villagers into thinking a wolf is attacking their sheep. When an actual wolf appears and the girl waves for help, the villagers believe that it is another false alarm, and the sheep are eaten by the wolf.
